It confirms what looking at the rig and schematic told me. An easy mod es one easy to undo. Floyd's other mod (a pot on the rear panel of the Scout to replace the one on the PCB) makes sense if you don't want to go milliwatting or reduce battery drain. From: flydnq7x@primenet.com (Floyd Smithberg) I mounted a pot on the rear panel of my Scout to replace the one on the PCB. Never did the TT Scout to Argo mod. However, here's the TT Scout single page instructions for the QRP Mod that disables the 50W final. "...be aware that the power/SWR meter will no longer be accurate. Use external power meter." 1. Remove the bottom cover. 2. Remove coax plug from connector 61 on the PA block. 3. Remove coax from connector 55 on the main board. Insert the plug removed from 61 into connector 55. 4. Unsolder or clip the RED and WHITE T voltage lines. How you do this will determine the ease of re-converting the Scout to 50W. These lines are located next to each other on the main board. To find them, look down on the main board at about the half way point of the power amp block. 5. Tape these two wires, so they will not ground out. Replace the cover.
