(Long) X-Orcpt: rfc822;qrp-l@fidoii.CC.Lehigh.EDU X-Listprocessor-Version: 8.1 beta -- ListProcessor(tm) by CREN Status: RO Howdy Folks, Well by my clock it's still Sunday night, so I'm meeting my deadline for the FYBO '99 results! *8-) First off, at the risk of sounding sappy, we AZ ScQRPions would honestly like to thank all you FYBO ops for your tremendous support. Seriously! Field Ops, Home Ops, 100+ QSOs or 5, every little bit helps make it fun for everyone. Without you folks getting on the air, FYBO would be a lonely, frozen Fox Hunt with no Hounds. >From the sounds of things, everyone was relaxing, swapping a few quips here and there, and generally having fun being on the air. That's what a hobby is supposed to be all about. :-) Great job gang! I'll present the Soapbox Comments and Prize Results next weekend, to give a few days for last minute corrections. So what am I posting tonight? First a summary of results, followed by three lists: Total Results (sorted by temperature), Field Op Results (sorted by score) and Home Op Results (also sorted by score). It'll be long, but you'll only need to hit your 'delete' key once if that's your choosing. ;-) So without further ado, let's get to it! Cheers de AB7TT, -Joe, vole@primenet.com, AZ ScQRPions (Phoenix) "If it ain't fun, you ain't doin' it right!" -The AZ ScQRPions ========================================= FYBO '99 Winter QRP Field Day Summary Top 3 Field Stations ( * = MultiOp ) WQ0RP (*) - 341,088 pts WQ3RP (*) - 95,744 pts AK7Y - 79,488 pts Top 3 Home Stations W5VBO - 38,064 pts N4BP - 14,400 pts AB7MY - 9,888 pts Coldest 3 Stations WQ0RP (*) - 17F AK7Y - 19F AB0GO - 20F Warmest 3 Stations HP1AC - 84F KA5T - 80F N4BP - 80F Farthest DX Op JR0BAQ - Exactly 100 FYBO logs were submitted. Of those, 36 were Field stations and 64 were Home stations. Thanks folks! Proves how important you Home Ops are for us Field Ops! We owe you a collective beer. :) - Once again, WQ0RP (The MN QRP Society multi-op station) established themselves as the Kings of FYBO, winning both the Lowest Temp (17F), Total QSOs (187!) and Overall Score (a whopping 341,088 points)! Awesome job guys! (Ala 'Wayne's World' - "We're not worthy! We're not worthy!" :-) ) - AZ ScQRPion Brian (W5VBO) took advantage of an unseasonal Phoenix cold snap and stayed with the bands to the tune of 122 QSOs, resulting in a first place Home Op finish. Way to go! - Many thanks to the DX ops who got on the air, including HP1AC, JR0BAQ, AL7FS, WB6FZH/KH6, VE3JC, and VE3SP. - Nearly 1/3 (31 stations) of all ops operated at or below 40F! WOW! We're all much more brave (or foolish) than we thought! ;-) - 17 stations operated in temperatures at or below freezing, showing some serious dedication! - 3 Home Ops took advantage of frozen backyard sheds and patios to operate at or below freezing. Resourceful. ;-) - Attack of the milliwatters! 12 milliwatters got on the air and made an impressive showing, some with less power than you generate blowing your nose. :-) - Most important of all, WELL OVER 100 QRP OPS HAD FUN! ========================================= FYBO '99 Results, All Ops (by Temperature) ( * = MultiOp station ) Callsign Loc QSOs Max Power Low Temp Score WQ0RP (*) F 187
